²⁷ To Absalom were born three sons and one daughter, whose name was Tamar—she was a beautiful woman.

²⁸ Now Absalom had lived two full years in Jerusalem but he never saw the king’s face. ²⁹ Then Absalom sent for Joab, in order to send him to the king, but he was unwilling to come to him. So he sent word again a second time, but he still would not come.
